My friends

This season has been brutal on my friends.  Fleas are horrible this year and apparently environmental allergies are driving them nuts.  I have been using Confortis on the dogs for fleas, but they just keep scratching.  Well, I bathed the little guys tonight.  No fleas.  Not even any dead fleas, but they are still scratching.  Hope this improves soon.  The bathing helped, but did not relieve the itching.  Imagine this: 6 pounds of poodle growling and snapping while I clipped her.  Good thing she is not bigger.  She would do some damage.  Duncan was a sweetie while I clipped and bathed him.  He is still afraid, but not nearly as bad as when he came to me.  Jock hated me clipping him, but Jock never tries to bite me.  He just tries to get away.  Tomorrow, I bathe Missy and Daisey.  That will be a trip.  Hope I have enough towels. My little friends make life worth living.

Trip to vet

I took Missy in this morning and had the staples removed.  She did just fine until the tech got to the staples under her arm.  Then she got testy.  She tried to bite the tech.  I had to hold her down and it was not easy.  However, she has all the staples out and is home and getting into mischief along with Daisy.  Daisy just got into my  sack of plastics for recycling.  She has them all in her crate.  I just don't have the heart to take them away, at least not tonight.  I'll pick them up tomorrow morning.

Update on Missy

Missy is going back today to get her stitches out.  I was going to take them out myself, but I just did not have the courage to do it.  They are staples and I was afraid I would hurt her, so she goes back to see Dr. Don this morning to have him remove them.  She is doing great.  So is Daisy.  I don't know how I will handle Daisy when I do lose Missy.  Hopefully that is at least a couple of years down the road.  Missy is 13.
