Winter in Texas
I got up on Thursday morning to put the doggies out. Everyone but Abby went out and she tried to run back in the house. I caught her and put her out. I just stood at the door because I knew they wouldn't be long. It was 28 degrees and for Texas that is darn cold. Sure enough, within a couple of minutes, they were all at the door. I opened the door. Daisy shot in followed by Missy, Abby and Jock. I couldn't see Duncan. He usually sits outside the door and waits for me to step out and get him. He was nowhere to be seen. That scared me. So I turned around to close the pet gate to the kitchen and there was Duncan standing there looking at me. He had shot in under the big dogs' feet. He was not about to stay out there in that cold. Now Daisy is demanding to be fed. Guess I'll go feed them. Abby didn't go to Dr. Don. Dr. Don was out sick, so she went to my back-up vet, Dr. Cargill. He was really good with her. Gotta go. Everyone is demanding to be fed.

Abby
Abby as usual is my problem child. All my cats are bigger than Abby and most outweigh her by at least 6 pounds. Yet she is constantly beating them up. The couch is hers and no cat dare to venture onto her couch. They do so at their own risk. We're making that trek to see Dr. Don tomorrow. She will not be happy with me. If Dr. Don says it is ok, I will stop at Sonic or McDonald's and get her a hamburger patty. Don't know if Dr. Don will go for that, but we'll see.

Jock and Duncan's fears
We had a thunderstorm last night and Duncan was so scared he was shaking. Jock was not much better. I had both Jock and Duncan in my lap. Both were scared to death. Not Abby. She was sprawled on the couch beside me snoring. I did not know a small dog could snore so loud, but she can. She has no fear of storms at all. The only fear she has is that I might leave and not come back, like I ever would. It is getting cold now in Texas. It is not cold enough for Abby to suffer the indignity of a sweater. It has to be down in the 30's near freezing before she will allow me to put a sweater on her. Duncan, on the other hand, gets really cold so he will wear a sweater. I guess Maltese do not have a warm coat. Jock seems to do ok and he does have a really thick coat. Abby also seems to have a warm coat. Anyway, over Christmas break, we are making the trip to see Dr. Don. Time for shots, toenail clips and other stuff. Abby really hates these trips to the vet. She lets me know it too. The last time I took her, he had to express her anal glands and cut her toenails. She also had an ear infection. When I got back in the car with her, she moved onto the passenger seat and turned her back on me. She was really angry.
