Just before Christmas, I came down with the flu. It took me two weeks to recover. So no Christmas. I went to Georgia after New Year's. I drove with Duncan and Jock. I left Honey at my vet's. I was very afraid she would get away from me along the way and I would lose her. She came back to me today and she is spoiled rotten.
Anyway, I won't do that to Duncan and Jock again. Jock was so stressed. He just sat in the passenger seat most of the way there. I had to stop once and just hold him. After we got there, he was fine. My daughter feeds the stray cats and has feeders on her front porch. Around the 4th night there, Jock sailed off he couch and charged the window that looked out on the porch. He was in attack mode. So I went out to see what was bothering him. There was a huge possum and two smaller ones on my daughter's front porch. They were eating the cat food. When I told her about this, all I got was "well they are hungry too." She has a huge two story house. Jock was afraid of the stairs. I had to carry both he and Duncan upstairs. A couple of days before we left, he braved 4 steps but would go no further. By the time we left, he had become good friends with my daughter's cat. Duncan loved it because he got to sleep on the couch all day, get fed, taken outside, and carried to bed. He lived like a king. All in all, I enjoyed the trip, but it was really difficult.
