These are pictures of Duncan.  For anyone who doesn't know, Duncan came to me in August 2011.  He was found by a friend's granddaughter way out in the country.  He was so matted that when the friend's daughter clipped him, she found a mummified cockroach in his fur and he was so skinny. I don't know how old he is, but the last 6 years of his life have been heaven.  I made sure because I wanted to make up for the hell he had obviously lived in up to that point.  And I have made sure he has had a wonderful life.  He is now blind, mostly deaf.  He sleeps on my bed at night.  He eats, goes out in the back yard.  I go with him so he doesn't get lost.  I bring him in, he makes his way to my bathroom where he has a comfy bed.  He beds down and sleeps till I get home around 1pm.  He gets up and goes outside.  He has usually gotten up and peed on the door in the bathroom  sometime while I am gone.

He is ready for dinner precisely at 4:30 pm.  He eats, goes outside, comes in, wanders around the house, beds down in the living room where he has another bed.  At 7pm, he is up and demanding I take him to bed.  I take him back outside along with Honey and Jock, bring them in, and he goes to bed on my pillow.  The first half of his life may have been miserable, but I have made sure the last half was wonderful.  I love him dearly and will so miss him when I have to let him go.  Hopefully, that time won't come anytime soon.  He is healthy, eats great.
