He came to me August 11, 2011. He was so, so skinny, loaded with whipworms and frightened to death. When I took him from Chelsea, he wrapped his front paws around my arm. He had been thrown away like so much garbage. Chelsea found him way out in the country down a dirt road. I took him home with me. Of course my others accepted him right away.
He didn't know what a bed was. When I made him a bed with towles on the floor of my bedroom, he just stood there and watched me. When I finished, I put him on it and he sat with his head ducked like I was going to hit him. When I turned away, I hear him tentatively scratching at his new bed. He jealously guarded that bed for 3 months, then he moved to my bed with Abby and Jock. He has been a real joy to watch him come out of his shell, to join the rest of my flock. He went from crabwalking to strutting around and demanding.
I am afraid we have reached the end. He would not eat this morning. I have been having to encourage him to eat, but this morning he refused to eat anything. So, I am taking him to see Dr. Cargill this morning. I want him to examine him and if he says it's time, I will let him go. I will miss him so much. It hurts so bad everytime I lose one.
