Hopefully turning tropical

I have been in this part of Texas for over 40 years.  In those 40 years, I have seen a lot of hurricanes, fires, miserable hot summers and some relatively cool winters.  However, I have seen the extremes get worse. We were in a drought for 10 years with only a small break in around 2010.  Then we had the hell of 2011.  Temps reaching 110 on a daily basis.  No rain for months.  We have 254 counties and during 2011 summer, 252 were on fire at any one time.  Even East Texas has fires and the humidity there is usually so high there is no threat of fire.  There was then.  We lost several small towns as well.  Then it gradually started getting wetter.  Well this September is the wettist I have ever seen it.  We have almost as much rain in September as we used to get all year.  And every time we have a thunderstorm, we get around 5 inches of rain.  Last Friday was one of those times.  My yard is standing water and I have never seen that before.  So I am pulling for tropical.  Time will tell.  Of course, those summers will continue to get hotter and hotter.
