Update on Abby

Abby seems to be doing ok on the new heart meds.  I freaked out last night.  I wan't feeling up to par, and accidentally gave her a pill in the morning and again in the evening.  I realized this around 9pm.  I grabbed the phone and called my vet.  I had the vet on call paged.  He told me to give him a few minutes to check his computer.  He was driving and had to pull over.  He called me right back and told me everything was ok.  I do have great vets.  I can get someone 24/7.  If I have an emergency, and I have had many in the past, I can have them meet me at the clinic.  They have always come through for me.  David spent 3 weeks several years ago trying to find out what was wrong with my cat.  He finally found the problem.  She had swollowed some sewing thread and it had looped around her tongue and around her intestine.  He did surgery.  She lost about 25% of her intestinal tract, but he saved her life.  She lived to 12.  I lost her last year.  Yep.  I have great vets.  I asked Don the other day if he had any plans for retirement.  His reply "retirement from what?  Having fun.  I have not worked a day in my life since I started as a vet."
